Excellent TBS but without asynchronous multiplayer with a friend?!

First of all, this is truly an excellent solo game, hence the 4 stars. But I was so disappointed that it didnt offer multiplayer that you could match up with a friend (it just matches with a random opponent). Additionally, its real-time, so your opponent must be connected... It would have been an easy five star app, and purchased as multiple gifts to buddies who Id like to play with if you could match through Game Center or the like, and if it were asynchronous. But right now its just an excellent solo, turn-based strategy game.
